Concentration Workout

Think about the new school year starting… setting new goals…  seeing all of your old friends... HOW do you CONCENTRATE doing all these tasks? Well, Pink Smoothie has got you covered! Here are a few things I have used and have worked throughout the years!

1. Train your brain at a young age…

One of the youngest experiences I had with movies were with Baby NewtonBaby Da VinciBaby Noe, and Baby Monet DVDs.

Movies help you concentrate, a lot.  Why?! Well, seeing all the details, hearing the dialogues time after time—all of that actually makes your brain become more developed, and causes your brain to have a growth mindset.

Organize your free time so you can watch one or two movies in a week, at least — I assure that your mind can memorize many, many dialogues.

You should watch a movie 5 times at least.  I watched Harry Potter for the millionth time about a week ago and I still remember all the dialogues.

THANK YOU, MOM!

2. Read audiobooks.

Reading audiobooks makes you become a bookworm… you shouldn’t feel ashamed for hearing someone reading a book to you—many adults actually do this to fall asleep! I even read The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R Tolkien with the audio book open (I have the Kindle edition just so ya know), and it feels so relaxing because it seems that someone’s telling you the story!

For younger kids this is really fun.  For example, they can read a Trolls audiobook and see the drawings/paintings, so it makes them believe they’re actually there and are watching a movie!

3. Make a routine.

You should try making a routine since you’re little.  You have to do it, otherwise you will live a life full of anxiety and stress.

Since elementary school, you should actually start studying with games.

No, I’m absolutely NOT talking about “studying with the X-Box or Video Games on”, because then temptation comes in and you start playing with them.

The next day you will be DOOMED.

Why?

You FAILED YOUR TEST!

I’m referring to games that make you feel that studying is great! For example, if you have a Grammar test coming up, you should google a game with the different types of suffixes, adverbs, etc.

This would make studying and memorizing quickly, and I assure you that you will ace your test!

Also, do NOT study everything the day before.  Many of my classmates do that and fail their tests.

I don’t.  I study a little every day.  So when the day before the big test comes, I finish early and watched all the Netflix I wanted.

4. Search BOARD games—they help you enhance your memory!

You can entertain yourself playing board games—they’re fun, and people sometimes think they’re just bad because parents use them on family meetings!

Just play a game of checkers or chess with a close friend! It helps with concentration, especially if you’re in the midst of growing up.

You can also play Monopoly, Uno, and Scrabble! They help increase memory and are fun at the same time.  A friend and I used to play India a lot when we were little.

5. Sleep, eat, work out, and hear classical music. This is pretty basic, but it’s true.

Having a concentrated mind includes having a healthy body, and brain.

Working out at least 3-4 times a day is extremely good too, because doing exercise keeps your body active as well as your mind.

Try doing yoga, it includes synchronization and brings peace towards your mind and body.

There are people who don’t eat well due to the fear of getting “fat”.  What they don’t recognize or feel, is that not eating well makes one feel hungry, and it’s bad because you’re forcing your body to not eat correctly.

What does that mean?

That you will be stressed and will not sleep.  Sleep loss is pretty common—it especially develops when teenagers start blooming into adults.

Try to put relaxing music before you sleep—violin covers, like The Piano Guys, relaxes you a lot.

You should also try drinking chamomile tea before going to sleep, because it makes your mind and body become peaceful—that’s what your body wants for you, so you can fall asleep quickly.

People need at least 8+ hours of sleep before waking up, because then they’re going to be in a horrible grumpy mood and will affect those in the place they are.

So, y’all! I hope you enjoyed these tips! I recommend watching movies, reading, making a routine, eating well, working out, and hearing relaxing music via YouTube or Spotify… that can actually make you fall asleep easily, wake up in a happy mood, and improve your concentration!

Have a great school year!
